Modular wearables

This season, Packbags, the label for modular accessories from Amsterdam has collaborated with OpenStructures.

From November 22 to January 10, we present their flexible containers, assembled out of recycled polyester webbing and using straps that are compatible with the OpenStructures grid.
Just like OpenStructures, Packbags believes in modularity and in the endless opportunities of limitation.
They put this principle into practice and offer tools for storage of all kinds: flat-weaves, baskets, bags and backpacks that keep your daily belongings in place.
Due to the modular character, all models can be repaired and adapted whenever outdated or broken. Broken pieces can either be replaced or the entire object can be dis- and again reassembled into a different shape, and also be combined with other parts from the OS database.
We used some of the Packbags straps and ropes in combination with OS based lighting components, as to illustrate the potential and show how (often short lived) accessories fit also into an extended context of reuse.
